While an old waterwheel that is no longer in use is rotting away in the spa garden, this intact waterwheel is still operated by an underground water supply.
In the past, the brine water was pumped to the graduation tower. In 1777, 3 of these water wheels stood at the engine ditch built in 1721.
This water wheel was only built in 1993, has a diameter of 9 meters and weighs 8.4 tons.
