This highlight is incorrectly named. It is the Rotmurg-Winterseitensträßchen. In contrast to the Winterseitensträßchen, the old Ruhesteinstraße is not paved throughout and has also largely been taken out of use by the national park, which means that you are no longer allowed to drive it.
Otherwise I agree with the recommendation to take this road uphill due to the asphalt quality. This is an elegant way to escape from the motorcycle plague that gathers around the Ruhestein, especially at weekends.
