Very nice hiking route along the stream, nice and shady in summer.
Attention: At times there are a lot of mountain bikers on the way.

A fantastic hiking trail along the Röthenbach. The bridges and the many bends in the stream make the trip an experience.

Nice hiking trail along the Röthenbach. Changing subsoil from sand over firm forest floor to the root path, nice to hike. In some places very narrow, take care of hikers and cyclists.

This site is not that busy. For locals, it is recommended to visit it during the week.

From Birkensee it is actually always along the stream - it couldn't be nicer ...

A fantastically beautiful hike with many beautiful impressions. Unfortunately, you have to be very considerate of the numerous mountain bikers.

The forest together with the large amount of sand is a special natural spectacle.

Actually idyllic. Unfortunately it is spoiled by the noise of the nearby motorway, which runs parallel for almost the entire length of the gorge. And the mountain bikers who destroy the ground.

Nice path but to describe it as a gorge is a bit exaggerated (and the creek is actually called Röttenbach)

The Rumpelbachschlucht is a small sandstone gorge in Middle Franconia (Bavaria) in the Altdorf district of Röthenbach. It is also called Röthenbachklamm after the Röthenbach, which flows into the Pegnitz near the town of Röthenbach and has a rocky notch on its upper reaches.n the small but wildly romantic gorge, the Röthenbach flows over a length of around 300 meters, partly between heavily weathered sandstone rock formations up to five meters high. At the entrance to the gorge, close to the town of Röthenbach, the stream has created a small waterfall; The river drops three meters over two small steps. In the subsequent rock sections, impressive erosion, smaller caves and weathering can be found, and further along there are also remains of previous rock falls. The sandstone banks of the upper Keuper can be clearly seen on the impact slopes and other outcrops. In the wide Kerbsohlental below the gorge, the stream then meanders in wide arcs.Source: Wikipedia
