Mountain biking
The Wenkeberg is the southern continuation of the Hielöcher and separated from them by a large sinkhole (sinkhole). The mountain is mainly formed from limestones of the main dolomite (Zechstein). The gypsum rocks, where the structure (stratification) can still be partially recognized, are striking here. These plasters can mainly be found on its north side. In the wider area the gypsum of the Werra anhydrite is only slightly exposed.

Mountain biking
Small, narrow trails lead around the Wenkeberg (at the same time hiking trails, so be careful) from which you have a beautiful view of Frankershausen. There is also a small shelter on the south side of the mountain.
