The menhir 'Pierre Haina' is the fossilization of the primeval ancestor.
In the past, before the arrival of imposed Christianity, the white menhir was whitewashed twice a year by our ancestors. This made the Pierre Haina an important sighting point in the valley. The white menhir was and is the centerpiece of the pagan megalithic system.

The Pierre Haina, sometimes also called White Menhir, is a natural rock in the municipality of Durbuy in the Belgian province of Luxembourg. It is one of the legend stones in the area, next to the Devil's Bed and the Pas-Bayard.
The rock has a striking shape: it protrudes above the underlying rock like a stone pillar. In this way, the rock forms a natural menhir, but has probably been processed at some point. The Pierre Haina is located 1.4 kilometers east of the Dolmen of Wéris and one kilometer northeast of the village of Wéris. The rock is located on a ridge on the east side of the valley in which Wéris is located. In this valley there are two dolmens and a number of other menhirs. The different megaliths in the area would form different alignments with each other that are parallel to each other.
For the megalithic system in the valley, the Pierre Haina was an important sighting point. The high-altitude protruding rock is clearly visible from several of the megaliths. The rock was whitewashed annually at the equinox, making it even more visible from the surrounding area.
The boulder has a height of about three meters and is tilted with a slope angle of 60 degrees.

Passage from our written experience Arduenna Experience...
Fascinated by sagas, myths and legends, we quickly reach a higher level. On the short but tough climb to the white menhir 'Pierre Haina' we feel in our legs that we are treading on holy ground or that our lactic acid has turned red.
On shaking legs we listen to Midsummer Night stories and the petrification of the primeval ancestor 'Pierre Haina'. In the past, before the arrival of imposed Christianity, the white menhir was whitewashed twice a year by our ancestors. This made the Pierre Haina an important sighting point in the valley. The white menhir was and is the centerpiece of the pagan megalithic system. Before we leave this legendary place, we quickly make a silent wish at the mythical 'Wish Tree'.
