Around a two-tiered hall house from 1653 are grouped more historic half-timbered buildings, as they were typical of the southern Lüneburg Heath: barns, stables and staircase storage. They show the peasant life and economies in earlier centuries. A bakery reconstructed from old materials delivers bread, fresh airs and butter cake twice a year.In the former coach house, the museum shop and the cash register are housed, the spinning and weaving circle meets here to work together, and in front of the entrance is the small garden with dye plants. In a building also constructed of old materials as a staircase storage, the working group "Flößer" shows which important sideline for the local population was the transport of tree trunks down the Aller to Bremen. In addition, the Museum Collection is supervised by the Working Group on Collection and Archive. In 1795 "Dat groode Hus" was built, where special exhibitions, concerts and numerous cultural events take place. It is used by the municipality Winsen for Council meetings and serves with its atmospheric framework as a branch office of the registry office. The Kalandstube in 1781 houses the Kalandstube, a café and restaurant serving regional specialties. On the extensive grounds with the draw wells and the apiary old apple trees are cultivated, and a herb garden completes the plant.
