To commemorate the old settlement, which was already mentioned in the late Middle Ages as the 'Hospitz St. Reinart', the Raeren scouts built a forest chapel out of the masonry of the demolished courtyards. Every year since June 11, 1973, numerous people have made a pilgrimage to this place and to the statue of Mary, which was donated by Maria Hasemeier Eulenbruch. From 1973 to 2016, a celebration was held in memory of this place on Whit Monday, which has been held on May 1st since 2017.
