Essener and Rostocker Hut

Well-run hut in a great location at 2200 m. View of countless glaciers. The hut itself has everything you need and the staff are friendly. The food is good to very good for a DAV hut.
A hut that can be recommended.

Base for many high-altitude tours in summer and high-altitude ski tours in winter.
A little tip: ask the hut owner for directions to the ice cave! The cave is located above the Simonysee and is definitely worth seeing!

Well maintained hut, very nice service team and boss. Sanitary facilities and rooms very good + clean. Showers available (currently warm 1 euro/min, cold free of charge). Several washrooms, hot water free of charge. Half-board is worth it for overnight stays, a wide range of dishes including a salad buffet and a great breakfast. It is possible to stay overnight with a dog in the room, it is essential to reserve and arrange this in advance.
