The Monte Gelato waterfalls have acquired notoriety for being the backdrop in some period films, thanks to their relative proximity to the Cinecittà film studios in Rome.
The shady trees around the waterfall and the Treja river in the Vale del Treja Natural Park create a peaceful environment, ideal for taking a break on the Via Francigena towards Rome.
