Hiking Highlight
Recommended by 10 out of 11 hikers
Routes leading to this Highlight may be highly dangerous
Routes comprise technical, difficult, or hazardous terrain. Specialist equipment and prior experience is required.
Status August 2022: due to the disappeared glacier, the old normal route (today a scree field) is no longer recommended! Instead, keep to the left coming from the Weissmieshütte (along the moraine and over the ridge).

Completely out of the question to create something like a "hiking highlight" and to recommend it. You cannot hike up the Lagginhorn. Mountaineering is life-threatening!2 examples.German climbers probably slipped
Mountain drama on the Lagginhorn in SwitzerlandFive German mountaineers died in an accident on Tuesday afternoon on the Lagginhorn (4010m) in the canton of Valais. According to the first findings of the investigation, a group member slipped on slippery snow and dragged the other four mountaineers down with them. The initial assumption that an avalanche or a rockfall could have triggered the tragedy has since been rejected. The mountain tragedy is the most serious accident in the Swiss Alps to date this year.Accident at the Lagginhorn

I created the summit myself as a “mountain hiking highlight”. And something about the claim was written as a “tour tip”.@Patrick Göser: Yes, you shouldn't see the summit as a "hiking highlight". Unfortunately, Komoot does this automatically, depending on how the creator has classified his recorded tour. Maybe, like many “social media” sites, it’s even about more page views. In ideal conditions (which are not a given even in midsummer!) the mountain is glacier-free and steep, but can be reached via the ridge with a maximum of "easy" climbing spots on the first ridge. In wet weather the plate can still be tricky.
However, you should always know what you are doing. And that's exactly where the problem lies with a platform like Komoot, where anyone who is inexperienced can search for "hiking tours" and is tempted to take unreasonable actions.
