A very nice restaurant with a great outdoor seating area, good food, and good drinks. Older, less mobile guests are picked up from the parking lot.

Bad Rothenbrunnen: an iron-rich spring that has been used for healing for centuries, a small spa of the late 19th century, then a long drowsy sleep and gradual decline. It has been reviving for a while now, offering quaint rooms, carefully restored in the style of the turn of the century, and a lively and popular beer garden. All this embedded in the dramatic mountain landscape of a narrow and wild valley, on a roaring mountain stream, in the largest nature reserve in Vorarlberg and in the so-called core zone of the biosphere reserve. rothenbrunnen.at

A legend tells us about the origin of the Rothenbrunnen baths; The healing spring is mentioned in a document as early as 1460. In 1648 the bath came into the possession of the Weingarten monastery, which Rothenbrunnen intended as a place of refuge in times of war. Abbot Dominikus Laymann had a bath house built where the monastery members sought relaxation and healing. Leopold Moosbrugger, one of the cheese counts from the Bregenzerwald, bought Bad Rothenbrunnen in 1834 and built the bathhouse that still exists.

At the turn of the century Rothenbrunnen was a modern spa house. Daily mail delivery, a telephone intercom, a taxi to the Ludesch train station and the best cuisine were offered to the guest. The doctor from Garsella acted as a spa doctor; free hunting and fishing were included in the price of the board. From 1918 to 1954 Rothenbrunnen was a hunting lodge. The Fenkart family from Hohenems again set up a guest business. Bad Rothenbrunnen is at the entrance of the "Gadental" nature reserve and is one of the most beautiful locations in the area, a jewel in the Großes Walsertal biosphere reserve.
