The Upstalsboom is the medieval meeting place of the East Frisian tribes in the Aurich district Rahe. The site is a prehistoric burial mound. The urns found there are from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Envoys of the Frisians met until the 13th century as an expression of the "Frisian freedom" in this place to speak right and make decisions.
