The Marian pilgrimage chapel in Pützfeld (district of Ahrbrück) has also been the property of the civil community of Ahrbrück since 1947. It was built outside the village on the other side of the Ahr valley on the Biebelsley rock slope. In contrast to the other chapels in the community, the Katharinenkapelle in the district of Brück, the Rochuskapelle in the district of Denn, and the former Apollinaris chapel in the middle of the district of Pützfeld, which was demolished in 1921 due to dilapidation, all three of which were built by the respective village communities, the Marienkapelle is a private one Foundation of Werner Dietrich Freiherr von Friemersdorf zu Pützfeld and his wife Maria Magdalena Scheiffardt von Merode zu Allner, owners of the moated castle that was once located below the village of Pützfeld and has now disappeared. The reason for the foundation of the chapel in 1681 was not the plague epidemic that hit the Ahr valley in 1636 and 1668, because the plague saints Rochus, Sebastian and Antonius the hermit (with the sow) are missing from the rich figural program of the chapel decoration.

The Pützfelder Chapel is an eye-catcher above the bike path. The visit, combined with a short steep ascent, is worthwhile.
