Finchdean is a hamlet just north of Rowlands Castle in the South Downs National Park. Every building seems to have stepped out of the past and you'll find a historic pound here, a place where stray animals were kept until their owners were found. Nestled just north of Rowlands Castle, Finchdean is a charming hamlet where every building has a timeless charm. There is still a blacksmiths here now.

On the green there is a pleasant rest area with seating. This is where the village animal pound/jail once stood.
