Bathing in the sea became extremely popular in the 19th century and so everyone was talking about the small village of Binz as more and more visitors came. The place became more and more popular and so soon from a village to a seaside resort. A beach promenade was built and architects were hired from the easy pockets of wealthy businessmen to come up with creative designs. The magnificent style of the numerous villas is known today as resort architecture.

The network of cycle paths is very well developed in almost all directions - but there are still enough sandy sections for their lovers. It is always astonishing how many climbs there are on this island, so close to the sea.

Very nice well-kept beach promenade and pier. Great Kurhaus and nice atmosphere in the "tourist mile"

The largest seaside resort on Rügen. Ok, a bit busy here, but there are also quiet places here, for example around the Schmachter See. The promenade is just as worth seeing as the pier, but it's best to get an overview yourself.
