St. Hubertus Chapel Winkel

The Catholic chapel of St. Hubertus is located in Winkel near Marienheide in the Oberberg region.

The St. Hubertus Chapel has existed on a nearby hilltop above the farmstead since November 6, 1999. As it is located on the edge of the forest, it was named after the patron saint of hunting and nature. The traditional May devotions were held quite provisionally in a garage until one day someone came up with the idea of creating their own chapel. This was then built by the villagers themselves. The construction time was only five months. The land, the field stones, the wrought iron railings, the tower cross with rooster, the bell, the Hubertus fresco and the Madonna were donated or made by individual activists. Former floor tiles from the Marienheide pilgrimage church were also used. A church service is held there at least once a year. A support association was founded to maintain the building.
