MacDonald Trail leads roughly North-South from the southern end of Redwood Regional Park along the center spine of Anthony Chabot Regional Park, a regional park in Oakland, California. It covers 5,067 acres in the San Leandro Hills adjacent to Oakland, San Leandro and Castro Valley. It is part of the East Bay Regional Park District system south of Redwood Regional Park, which contains the largest remaining natural stand of coast redwood found in the East Bay, and other evergreens, chaparral, and grasslands. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Chabot_Regional_Park , ebparks.org/parks/anthony_chabot
MacDonald is part of a mountain bike loop around both parks komoot.de/tour/14468615

Brutal climb when coming from the Redwood park. After that beautiful trail and nice view. Saw a coyote here.
