The sacrificial stone is probably an old place of worship. The remains of an artificial staircase on the access road testify to the fact that this place was important a long time ago. Whereby access road is actually the wrong word, because normal mountain bikers have to push the slope up to the stone. Even the descent back on the same route after the visit is not really easy. The path is well maintained (see the renewed footbridge over a small swamp area), but it is steep and winding. It is certainly not wrong to leave your bikes down at the junction from the upper slope path when visiting.

The immediate vicinity of the stone is a source area, so you have to be careful where you step. Otherwise you will sink deep into the mud and have wet feet for the rest of the tour. On the back of the stone is clearly legible the inscription "Sacrificial Stone EGV", which was only introduced today.

One more note: Even those familiar with the area often mistakenly think that the stone is right on Eggeweg. That's not the case. The stone can be reached via the upper slope path and would only be accessible from the Eggeweg via a crisp, short climbing insert. Outside of the growing season, the sacrificial stone and the area surrounding it can be viewed from above from the Eggeweg at a suitable point. To do this, however, you have to approach the edge of the cliff. The place is only a few hundred meters behind the tiring of the Eggeweges into the old Kleinenberger Straße.
