The forest information center Hammerhof was founded in 2004. It is an environmental education facility of the regional forestry office Hochstift von Wald und Holz NRW. Events on the topics of forest, nature and forestry are offered regularly.

There is also a well-visited café here, which is run by the owners of the Gasthof Luis in Scherfede. Here you can strengthen yourself extensively on a tour.
