The beach in Świnoujście is the widest beach on the island of Usedom. Sand that has been eroded from other parts of the island is constantly washing up here. The beach is sandy and several kilometers long. To the east, it is bordered by the western pier with the Mühlenbake (mill beacon), and to the west by the German-Polish border off Ahlbeck. However, this border does not hinder beach walks toward Ahlbeck.

The water is initially shallow, so even children can swim. Beach chairs are still relatively rare; most people bring their own windbreaks or blankets. Directly outside the town, the beach is quite busy in good summer weather.

Toward Ahlbeck, however, it becomes quieter. Those seeking complete peace and quiet can take the ferry across the Świna River. Then find a spot on the beach on the island of Wolin, east of the Świna. Until Międzyzdroje – about 15 kilometers away – there are no other beach resorts, and everyone can find a quiet spot on the almost deserted beach.
