Shortly before the Oker flows into the Aller is this weir with a small fish bridge. On the side is still a turbine house.

Tranquil at low tide, more exciting at high tide! The Aller (sources near Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt) and the Oker, which comes from the Harz Mountains, meet behind the weir! The weir was completely restored in 2006, especially the mechanical systems. The 14 wooden bulkheads can be opened and closed independently of each other.
The lock was built in 1880 and cost around 100,000 marks at the time!
The side cheeks and the oval central part consist of large, hewn blocks of sandstone.A new wooden bench has been inviting you to take a break since 2022!

Oker divided into three: main arm with weir, secondary arm through the extra house and Fischtreppenbach. Both in front of and behind the weir, you can sit very nicely by the water and listen to the rushing water.
