The creation of the Scheunenviertel in Kremmen can be traced back to the electoral decree of 1672. Today there are still 50 of the 70 barns that used to be there. It should be unique in Germany, maybe also in Europe. Today there is a museum, theatre, restaurants, cafés, shops and the Kremmen tourist information office.

On the outskirts of the city of Kremmen, 30 km north-west of Berlin, is what is probably Germany's largest surviving barn district. About 50 buildings, mostly lined up in several rows, form an ensemble in terms of floor plan and facade and arranged in a unique symmetry, which as a whole has been a listed building since 1993.

Here old barns have been lovingly renovated. Very different artists have found a home here and offer their goods. Really nice things, but unfortunately everything was closed when we visited.
