Forest pond created in the course of iron ore mining in the region. From 1858 to 1865 there was a shaft over 20 m deep. Due to the low iron ore yield, the mine was abandoned very quickly and filled with water.
There is the following legend about the pond, which also earned him the name "baker's hole":
"On August 13, 1890, the 15-year-old baker's apprentice - son of baker Rudolf in the" Heiteren Blick "- got into this pond along with the team of dogs and the rest of the bread load. He had driven bread for his father to the neighboring towns of Kuhschnappel and St. Egidien and was there on the way home.
The scene of the accident could only be determined the next morning. Several breads and wagon boards were found floating on the water. The cart and the two dogs, and later the dead baker's apprentice, were laboriously recovered with poles. "There is seating at the pond.
