Information:
From 1858 to 1865, there was a mine shaft here, over 20 meters deep. Mining was abandoned due to low yields. The shaft soon filled with water. On August 13, 1890, a 15-year-old baker's apprentice and his team of dogs fell into this pond. The location of the accident wasn't determined until the following morning. The pond has borne this name since this tragic event.
