A pond suddenly appears in the middle of the forest. Cistercian monks, who dammed a small spring stream around the year 1500, are hiding behind the secret of the pond. The collected water drove a mill wheel at the drain. The mill - also called "Vordere Walke" - was needed for fulling wool and linen fabrics. At that time, the cloth making trade was growing steadily in the region around Treuenbrietzen, so that the mill soon no longer met the technical requirements and a new mill was built. The "Vordere Walke" was converted into a grain mill and trout were used in the mill pond. Even the king at the time ordered his fish here, so the mill was soon called the trout mill. The mill went down in a fire in 1871.

Trout pond very nice in the middle of the pond there is an island with banks (but how do you get there) 🤔

There used to be a bridge to the island, today only the concrete foundations of it can be seen under the water surface, a little from the north. So today you have to swim ...
