The Baumgartalm lies Grießltal (side valley of the Madautals). The Alm is dominated by the 2509m high Taja peak (in the Lechtal Alps). To the northwest lies the well-known Holzgauer Wetterspitze. The hike to the Alm is best started in Bach (Lechtal). First it goes to Madau. About 2km further the path branches off into Grießltal. On a fairly rough gravel road follows immediately at the beginning of an increase. After half an hour you reach the Grießlalm and from there you continue to the Baumgartlalm. Overall, a walking time of 2 to 2.5 hours is to be expected. The Alm is open from the beginning of July to the end of September. Inside, it is very cozy and food and drinks are excellent.
