  • Evidence of a parish in Laubach dates back to 1021. A church was first mentioned in 1057. She was St. Consecrated to Mary [2] and in the pre-Reformation period had four altars consecrated to Our Lady, St. Catherine, St. Nicholas and St. Sebastian. In the 15th century, Laubach belonged to the Archidiakonat St. Johann in the Archdiocese of Mainz. [3] With the introduction of the Reformation by Count Friedrich Magnus I von Solms-Laubach in 1544, the parish changed to the Evangelical confession.
