Whether the "Feuerthal Cross" is truly unique, I can't say, but in any case, this small sacred monument, which the hiker or walker encounters here in the vineyards, is a very unusual wayside cross. Not only is it surrounded by the vines planted and tended by the winemaker, but in the monument itself, carved from red sandstone, the grapes form a stone ring around the central cross.
