Strange things happened on the local mountain of Hammelburg.
One night in the year 2000, a life-size figure of a woman weighing about 250 kg was set up by an unknown artist.
The Hammelburgers gave her the name Amalberga. It was named after the wife of the Thuringian king Herminafried, who is said to have owned a castle on the mountain.
Three years later, the figure disappeared without a trace.
And now in July 2018, the character came back unnoticed and again without a hint on the artist.
Only one thing is certain to this day: it is not the old figure, because it is a new Amalberga.

I always like to come up here. Not only because of the view, but also because of the peace and the many hiking possibilities.
