The canal run is a recreational area that invites to a variety of activities. Some go jogging early in the morning and late in the evening, while others relax from the stress of the day. The shore path also gives you a view of the village of Winznau, which is embedded between Aare and the southern slope of the Dottenberg.
Insight into the history of the village
On 23 panels set up from the Rankwog to the Oakwood, there are texts that point to historical events in different epochs, to historical developments and changes, and to give an insight into the history of the village. The topics chosen are mainly focused on landmarks that are clearly visible from the canal bank. They are dealt with conclusively on a board and find no continuation on the next.

Thus, in addition to the data on the history of the Rankwog Bridges, there is a historical event that dates back 10'000 years and points to the first people in the community who lived in the Käsloch and Köpfli.
