This memorial commemorates a natural disaster with a red wedge that stands in the forest as if driven into the landscape. It's an impressive monument. A nearby information panel describes the effects of the storm.

The "red wedge" stands in memory of Wiebke, who made life difficult for many forest owners! Source: Wikipedia: Wiebke was a severe hurricane that raged across Germany, as well as parts of Switzerland and Austria, during the night of February 28 to March 1, 1990. It concluded a series of eight storms that raged across Western and Central Europe in the late winter of 1990.
