The so-called "Nasse Dreieck" near Hörstel-Bergeshövede in the Tecklenburger Land region is not a triangular area, but rather, analogous to a motorway triangle, denotes the waterway triangle, where at km 108.35 of the Dortmund-Ems Canal (DEK) the Mittelland Canal (MLK) branches off, and through the so-called Gravenhorster gorge between the Huckberg and the Bergeshöveder Berg crosses the northwestern foothills of the Teutoburg Forest to turn east behind Uffeln. The junction of the MLK is followed by a lock on the DEK. The Wet Triangle is an important hub for inland shipping.
