Monte Brè

It is said that the area of Monte Brè above Lugano is the sunniest in Switzerland. It offers a great view from the Alps to the Monte Rosa, which then loses itself in the Gulf of Lugano, over which rises the Monte San Salvatore. The Monte Brè (933 m) can be reached by funicular, which departs from Lugano-Cassarate. This mountain is the ideal destination for art and nature lovers. The picturesque village of Brè, 15-20 minutes on foot from the mountain station of the funicular railway, was the residence of numerous artists who left interesting traces of their work.
