The Burraia meadows represent one of the most important open areas of the ridge within the National Park, an important habitat and element of landscape diversification.
The toponym "burraia" recalls the production of butter and milk processing, which was once carried out in the building now used as a shelter and managed by the Ski Club of Stia.
The most recent C.A.I. “Città di Forlì” stands out in the middle of the meadows, an important stopping point for hikers.
The meadows extend up to the top of Monte Gabrendo, on whose summit a ski lift once no longer in operation.(Source: trekking.parcoforestecasentinesi.it/poi/la-burraia)
