The WDR broadcaster "Eifel-Bärbelkreuz" is located on the forested plateaus of the Zitterwald at an altitude of 652 m above sea level. NN. The highest peak of the Zitterwald is at the Weißen Stein (692 m; with ski area) southwest of Udenbreth; further surveys of the Zitterwald include Bärbelkreuz (662.8 m), Hühnerhöhe (659.9 m), Kamberg (637.8 m). The Eifel-Bärbelkreuz is located in Neuhaus in the municipality of Hellenthal.The Hellenthal villages and settlements - such as Giescheid, Miescheid, Neuhaus, Ramscheid and Udenbreth - in the northern part of the Zitterwald are among the highest church villages in the Rhineland.

The Eifel-Bärbelkreuz transmitter is a broadcasting system of the Westdeutscher Rundfunk. It lies at an altitude of 652 m above sea level. NN. The transmission tower was built in 1985 and has a total height of 167 m.
From here, the WDR broadcasts its radio programs both in analogue and in the DAB + standard.
