The lake always played an important role in the village. He gave the place its unusual name, which dates back to the time of Wendish settlement:
Passade = Wendish Potzade = village on the lake
But it also has a significant impact on the townscape, which every visitor will confirm, and what the citizens of Passad love again and again.

The Passader See is about 290 hectares and measures 12m at its deepest point. It is fished commercially; but also a fishing club originally from Kiel has had permission to use the lake since 1912.
Since 1743, fishing on Lake Passader has been in the hands of the Schnoor family, who own a large part of the lake and who have leased the other part.

In the summer months, the 1st Kiel Water Ski Club invites you to exercise on the lake. The club moved its training area here soon after it was founded, as the Kiel Fjord is usually too "choppy".
The sailing boats are also nice to look at, but they start from Wulfsdorf.

But what everyone, both then and now, enjoy at the lake is the summer bathing pleasure. The bathing area at the newly designed playground is popular with young and old. Bathing at the lake was still strictly regulated around 80 years ago: the girls and women bathed on the eastern side of the lake, from the then undeveloped “Laak”, while the boys and men across from the “Milschkamp” were allowed to swim.

The lake also offers leisure activities in winter, or rather in cold winters when it is covered with a load-bearing ice surface. Then you can see skaters, hockey players, sledders and walkers on the ice. On weekends, visitors come from far and wide to indulge in this pleasure. There is room for everyone on the lake!
