The Huis Loowaard - to German House Loowaard - is an idyllic old mansion. Excavations found nearby suggest that there was a dwelling already here in Roman times. The foundations of today's house were laid in the 15th century. Possibly the Rhine navigation was supervised from here or it served as a border between Kleefs and Gelderland.
After it had fallen heavily in the 20th century (see photos) it was restored in 2008 and is now a real eye-catcher again.
