Who surrounds the Halterner reservoir, meets two longer, beautiful routes in the forest. One of them is the 2,543-meter-long Carl-Homann-Weg, which, starting at the end of the Strandallee at the Stadtmühlenbucht, leads along the northern shore of the lake to the Stockwieser Damm. Both pedestrians and cyclists have their fun here, because at high temperatures, the trees lining the path donate soothing shade. The path is lined by a long row of trees planted by wedding couples.

Those who have rested first at the newly designed Stadtmühlenbucht or in the restaurant Zur Kajüte, get through the forest either for boat rental on Stockwieser Damm, for further rest stop Lakeside Inn on the Stever or take a branch off the main path to more cool and narrow forest trails to explore. On the way there are several viewpoints, where cozy benches or picnic tables invite you to enjoy the view of the reservoir. In summer, the pleasure boat Die Möwe and its guests sail along the shore at regular intervals.
The namesake of the path is a mayor who ruled the maritime city from 1906 to 1926.

The Haltern reservoir is a dam at Haltern am See. It was built from 1927 to 1930, holds 20.5 million cubic meters of water and belongs to Gelsenwasser AG. The Stever and the Halterner Mühlenbach are stowed. The dam is 1300 meters long and 8.9 meters high. Wikipedia

Whether this specially created fence is now romantic? Not really.
