Musatti Biwak

Hiking Highlight

We stayed at the Bivacco Musatti, when we were on the Dolomitenhöhenweg No. 5 on the way. Just before we reached the bivouac, we came across a large herd of ibexes and watched them play and graze for a long time. Really nice. The bivouac is a typical 9-man sleeping box nestled above the Val del Boite at 2,111 meters above sea level. There is a spring a few minutes below the bivouac, we were out in July and it was just bubbling. With us there was still snow, but as one knows as an experienced mountaineer who takes to melt and is a bit cumbersome.

The view and the sunset are absolutely breathtaking! I would go there again immediately. Three Italian climbers joined us in the box, which we were able to observe the next morning in the wall on the summit behind the bivouac. The trail no. 5 is very lonely. For days we met hardly any people outside the Refugios. A real pleasure.
