The longest one-piece bank in the world

Between Semd and Altheim, near the B 45, there is the longest one-piece bench (31.33 m) in the world. It was built in June 2004 as part of a forest fair. On the following page there is an archive with photos that document the work:

It is possible that she would not have survived a transport unharmed. That would also involve some costs. Nevertheless, it was rumored among the citizens at the time that the bank would soon leave its location.Oh no, the citizens of Semden didn't like that. About 50 people tried to kidnap the bank in time to get it to safety. Not easy! At least they managed to get the bank to the location they wanted. The mayor finally decided that there would be no more bank relocation.
