The word Wil comes from a steep roof. The high Wil is located directly on the Aach and is the most beautiful half-timbered house in the old town of Blaubeuren.

In the tanners' quarter between the monastery and the town church, along the Achkanal, beautifully restored half-timbered houses testify to the medieval prosperity of the city.
The many bridges over the canal in front of the entrances have earned the district the nickname "Little Venice".
Here you can find off the hustle and bustle of Blautopf usually a slightly quieter, almost idyllic atmosphere.
