In 1445, Henrik Housteen, head chef of the Klever Duke, donated a house on Mühlenstrasse in Kranenburg to the sister convent in Kleve to establish a branch, which was established the following year with ducal approval. In 1472 the sisters from Kranenburg adopted the Augustine rule. In 1802 the Catherine Monastery was secularized.
