Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, Praia da Arrifana is a real haven for surfers. Surrounded by huge and steep cliffs, the 500 meter long beach seems to be protected from all the elements.

Typical west coast beach (approx. 1 km wide). You have to descend almost 100 meters (serpentines, stairs). There is a nice little beach bar. At the end of May the beach was not very busy (a few surfers).
