Tips
Currently (summer 2020) the cable car is being completely renewed (supports, ropes, etc.), so an ascent / descent is mostly only possible on foot. Partly there are restrictions due to (temporary) roadblocks due to construction work and falling rocks.
The path leads from St. GILGEN partly up or following the ski slope / ski path up to the middle station (BARTL, LÄRCHEN hut) and from there further along the ridge with breathtaking views of the WOLFGANGSEE. Past the ELFERSTEIN to the summit cross (a little hidden behind the houses). Then we went down to the middle station on the ski slope and then on the ascent.
Conclusion: a worthwhile hike; with almost 1,000m but already a little demanding for some.translated by
