The museum is housed in an old farm and mainly consists of objects abandoned by the 110 soldiers of the 1st American Infantry Division resting on the farm of Mr Schmetz-père. Marcel Schmetz has collected a number of souvenirs donated by veterans. It is a museum on a human scale, but very large by its welcome, its originality, its simplicity. The museum wants to be the witness of our gratitude towards all these G.I.s who, risking their lives, have given us freedom.
