The ascent from Maria Alm (816 meters) begins at the Sandten parking lot at approximately 1,130 meters. Gravel paths lead up the Sandten slope to the valley station of the material cable car at 1,594 meters. From there, the trail continues across the mountain pine slope and along a rocky path secured with ropes to the Riemannhaus (2,177 meters). The route is difficult and only suitable for experienced and physically fit hikers.

The way from the Riemannhaus to Maria Alm runs over serpentines and along steep cliffs. On the descent you have a phenomenal view of the valley in front of you. Some parts of the path are secured with steel ropes to give you additional support.
