The Kulmbach town hall was built in 1752. The plans for the Rococo facade came from the Bayreuth court master builder Joseph Saint-Pierre, who, under the influence of the Bayreuth margrave, designed a facade for the building.

The town hall is decorated with oversized beer barrels. The highlight is the Kulmbacher beer week at the end of July.

The first town hall was built between 1500 and 1530. After it was destroyed in the Federal War in 1553, it was poorly rebuilt and renewed in 1673. In 1751 the building was demolished down to the basement.
