Hiking
Five interlocking locks overcome 15.3 m. The locks can be easily reached from Motala on foot or by bike. Simply follow the path along the canal. At the top there is a kiosk on both sides of the canal. The larger of the two, on the north bank, offer very good soft ice cream in large portions (a small ice cream will probably be enough for most;))

Just north of the old industrial landscape at Motala are the Borenshult Locks. The locks are a popular destination in summer. Watching the hustle and bustle on the boats and in the locks is exciting. Children also have fun with it.
Borenshult's flight of locks has five locks. It is the steepest and most spectacular flight of locks on the Göta Canal. The staircase of locks overcomes a height of 15.3 m. The locks connect the Göta Canal with Lake Boren.
There is a kiosk and a popular café with snacks at the lock staircase.
