The branch church of St. Primus and Felizian is also known as the Buchbergkirche because of its location.
The Romanesque church with a Gothic choir and late Gothic exterior frescoes stands on a hill above Bischofshofen. Inside the church, which is unfortunately usually closed, you can see a late Gothic Pieta. For those interested in culture, a detour from the Tauern cycle path is worthwhile, even if there is 200 meters in altitude to overcome.
On Monument Day you can visit the church as part of a guided tour and climb the tower.

Just because of the all-round view. Tennengebirge, Hagengebirge, Hochkönig, Heukareck and Heinrich Kiener Haus. Unfortunately, the church is always closed except for events. From here you can drive to Bischofshofen in a very short time or, if you still want to exert yourself, to the Kiener Haus.

The Buchberg Church dates back to around the year 1000 and was later expanded with a Gothic choir.
From 1421 onwards, the square in front of the church served as a horse market that was known far and wide.
It was only a few decades ago that frescoes from the mid-14th century were found during the renovation of the outer facade. They show Saints Primus and Felician at the side of Mary with the child.
After the interior restoration of the wall surface and the renovation of the roof in recent years, a new people's altar was built.
