Maybe the history of the Luisenhütte dates back to 1732. The construction of an ironworks by the family of Landsberg, however, is provable only for the year 1748.In 1758 the Luisenhütte was taken over by Clemens August von Landsberg. [3]Ignaz von Landsberg-Velen and Gemen, who took over the possessions in 1812, devoted himself particularly to the expansion of this huts. In his time also falls in 1835 naming: Ludowika (Luise) of Westerholt-Gysenberg was his wife.In 1854, the hut was due to growing competition from the neighboring Ruhr, England and Belgium, and rebuilt.Soon after the opening of the first railway connections of the Ruhr area with the steelworks of Siegerland the Luisenhütte was shut down in 1865 again. Other huts in the Sauerland in Sundwig, Amecke, Endorf and in the Olpe area were also affected by the consequences of industrialization. For the preservation of the hut as a technical monument, it was first committed in 1939. For this purpose, the Gräflich Landsberg administration concluded a leasing agreement with the then competent district of Arnsberg. Since 1975, this is the Märkische circle responsible. The Luisenhütte was owned by Count Landsberg-Velen.
